Whole House Fans

A whole house fan cools your home at night by drawing in the cool night air and blowing out the hot air from inside.

In the Colorado summer it cools quickly as the sun sets. Whole House fans take advantage of this to cool your home quickly in the evening. A whole house fan is installed in the ceiling in a central location. When the fan is turned on it pulls the hot air out of the house and blows it into the attic.

Attic Ventilation

Attic ventilation is the most important part of cooling your home, yet most homes do not have enough attic ventilation. Adding more attic ventilation will make a noticeable difference in your comfort.

Not only does attic ventilation help to keep you cooler, it also prevents moisture problems which can cause mold and mildew in your attic.

Both rooftop and soffit vents are needed for good ventilation.

Why choose Vent Masters?

Vent Masters specializes in both attic ventilation and whole house fans. Many people will install a whole house fan but very few tradesmen are expert at attic ventilation. These fans will not work if you do not have enough attic ventilation. Some installers will tell you that modern building codes require attic ventilation. However, these codes did not come into effect until 1998. Other installers will add a few large dome vents on your roof. This will let the fan run better but does not do much to help your ventilation when the fan is not running. Vent Masters will maximize and balance your attic ventilation system by adding roof and/or soffit vents as needed so your attic will stay as cool as possible when the fan is not running.

Whole house fans are also called house fans or attic fans. The exhaust fans mounted on roofs or gable ends are also called attic fans so we try and say either "whole house fan" or "attic exhaust fan".
